In 1997, the Spirit-Filled Messengers was formed as a ladies trio. During the next 5 years, two of the ladies decided to leave to follow what they believed to be another direction the Lord led them in. Since September 2002, we have been a duet. The duet is made up of Juanita Barto and Linda Harbaugh, an original member.
We have ministered in New York, PA, MD, VA, WV, and Florida. Our mission: To minister salvation to the lost, healing to the sick, deliverance to the depressed and oppressed and encouragement to the saints. We will go wherever a door is open. We use our proceeds, after expenses, to help those folks less fortunate. We believe that sometimes you have to help with the natural needs before they are interested in you helping them with their spiritual needs.
In 2002 we were signed onto a recording label in Nashville, TN. The Mark 5 label. We finished our first project with them in November 2002. Look for it soon!
Member Biographies
Linda Harbaugh - is an Ordained Minister and has been married to her husband Harvey for 40 years! She is the mother of 1 daughter and 4 sons and the grandmother of 7 girls and 6 boys ages 18 years to 1 year. Linda loves to sing and has been singing since 1989 when she formed her first group. She sings the middle alto part. She works full time for a hospital as the Director of Environmental and Linen Services with 120 employees. She lives in Greencastle, PA
Juanita Barto - has been married to her husband Bill for 25 years. She is the mother of 2 daughters and 1 son and is the grandmother of one boy. She sings the high alto part and began singing as a child with her parents. Juanita works at a nursing home as a Nursing Assistant and live in Lemasters, PA.
