The following is an open email from Adam Knight which he sent to me after a phone call he made to me to ask for an opportunity to apologize for previous actions and to provide an explanation and contact information to those who may still need to reach him. I have not altered his letter in any way. We do suggest, however, that you do not enter into a business relationship with him that requires pre-payment for goods or services. No good can come from placing him in the midst of the same temptations that led him astray in the first place. Pay for tangible results, proven results involving people you can confirm things with. After you read Adam's letter, you can read emails (posted below) I have recently received about Adam's business practices since the letter was posted....and then another from Adam. |
Todd, Thanks for taking the time to speak with me on Thursday. Here is the open letter, feel free to share it with anyone! When times were good, they were good, but when they got bad they got out of control. I experienced something very familiar to the music business: money flow issues. This weeks artists helped fulfill responsibilities to last month's artis ts and eventually that domino effect caught up with me. Some of the music ministries I served couldn't have been happier, others spent good money for less that quality service and a broken down system of communication. I decided to sell parts of my business off in November, 2004 and closed the rest down. I vowed to never work in gospel music again, because I was ashamed and guilty for the way things had turned out. Then the morphing process began. Our family joined a very loving and caring church who has ministered to us and brought us to a greater understanding of God's love and a greater accountability of his grace. You see, growing up in music and in preaching ministry, I had spent years perfecting my pulpit delivery and very little time drawing close to the Lord. Over the few months, I have been grieving the music I love so much. I have made contact with many of the artists who didn't get a fair shake. Some have been forgiving, some have been hateful and vindictive. I can't say I blame them. Some prayed with me over the phone and have been part of this restoration journey. After a lot of prayer, soul seeking and hours of consultation and restoration, I feel that it is necessary that I redeem my reputation and respect in the industry and most of all among my brethern. Affective immediately, I will begin re-forming aspects of my company. In addition, I am almost finished with a book, which will be printed at my cost and distributed to anyone who requests in at no charge. It is written to those in the industry spotlighting pitfalls to keep others from falling into the self created pit that I found myself |

Adam Knight cold called me around eight weeks ago. He told me what his services were, background history, he even gave reputable references with email addresses such as Hayden Nichols. His offer seemed at the time to be very fair and legitimate. In reality, he's nothing more than a slippery, teflon coated little worm! He emailed me a copy of his agreement with his "money back" clause so, like an idiot, I signed it and sent it back to him with a sum of $600.00 which he cashed a few days later. During this time, I was headed out to Europe and the UK for a five week tour. In the meantime Adam was to be sending out radio ads, as well as adding me to a bill for spring dates opening for the Kentucky Headhunters. A so called audition was scheduled in Nashville for Dec 19th which not so surprisingly never happened. After this crock of you know what came to a head I became a little more than suspicious. I mean, $600.00 seemed like a small amount of money to rip someone off for but that’s what seems to have happened to me. I stressed to Adam that I was merely a working class musician and that I didn’t have the money to throw away but I would take a chance on him because it sounded at the time to be an offer I could not let pass, not to mention he was very convincing. Bad mistake! Over the past few weeks since I’ve been home, I have chewed his ears off repeatedly asking for the bread back but all I get is a pile of garbage for excuses and one lie to cover another. Oh well, shame on me. What can I say, Adam Knight is a liar and a thief! Please let me know this message was received and any thoughts you may have regarding this matter. | Adam Knight Report: Alright.......you want to hear my side of things...recent things? Adam contacted me after the Inspirational Country Music Week of November 7th thru the 12th, 2005. Adam is quite good at the pitch and with the right direction, may get a song cut here and there. Its just that here and there means many get nailed here and there also. I have all the copies of e/mails, contract, etc. He told me others were upset because they couldn't sing and their material was bad. That they wanted miracles. I didn't It's all a learning experience to me. I love it! The biz, the crooks...its all good. I can work at getting that cut in Nashville and be patient for the day when all will hear of Adam Knight from me. I'll be able to refer to him with power and confidence, because my God will put me there, to stop a person who preys on the ignorant. For now its just an e/mail, but bigger venues are always coming and Adam...be careful who you scam. God gives insight to those who serve Him...that's why you don't have my check...
